Responsibilities:

The SLAC Project Management Support Group seeks a Cost Estimator with a strong background in project cost estimating to provide life cycle cost analysis, maintain projects cost database, and project cost management support for various science and infrastructure projects.  As a Cost Estimator you will primarily serve as a Cost Estimator and perform the following duties; prepare conceptual and detailed hard and soft cost estimates, develop material lists and quantity takeoffs, track local material cost and construction cost indexes. Interface with customers, project managers/engineers, subcontractors, and contract administrators. You will also be responsible for preparing budgetary cost estimates based on conceptual design and detailed cost estimates based on 30%, 60% and 100% designs for industrial and commercial projects, including all disciplines: civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and controls. Perform consultant cost estimate reviews and reconciliation with other estimators to ensure compliance with project budget and quality control requirements. This position will also be accountable for performing Project Controls Specialist duties listed below.

Serve as project cost estimator, independently responsible for life cycle cost analysis, maintain projects cost database, and project cost management support.  This position will also serve as Project Controls Specialist, independently responsible for the planning, scheduling and controls functions of moderately complex projects.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

SunPower is seeking a Scheduler to perform tactical scheduling and progress measurement activities for the Distributed Generation and Utility Power Plant projects. The Scheduler reports to the Scheduling Manager in the Project Controls Department and will be responsible for creating, updating and revising project schedules, provide technical schedule analysis, and independently develop department initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):

– Prepare and maintain assigned project schedules using Primavera P6 incorporating project milestones, subcontractor schedules and all inter-related project activities.

– Update biweekly the Project Schedules incorporating feedback from field reports, control account owners, project stakeholders and Subcontractor schedules.

– Work with project teams to identify and sequence key construction activities, create resource and cost-loaded schedules with key materials and resources, setting up the project baseline, updating progress and reporting.

– Develop work around scenarios, critical path, and float analysis, and if required, recovery schedules.

– Provide assistance to the Project Manager and Scheduling Manager for all matters related to scheduling and progress reporting as well as department related objectives.

– Prepare Level 1, 2 & 3 Schedule formats for periodic progress reporting and distribution as well as percent complete, productivity analysis, man-hour summaries, progress, earned value reports, and critical path method analysis.

- Works in a team environment and collaborates internally with other schedulers to discuss technical scheduling practices and compliance with scheduling standards.

– Review Subcontractors’ schedule baselines as well as progress reports and schedule updates to ensure alignment to the Master Integrated Project Schedule and that the information provided is accurate and satisfy project requirements.

- Implement change order management practices in project schedules representing stakeholder changes to evaluate schedule impacts and claims.

- Applies advanced subject matter knowledge and wide-ranging expertise to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods and to the development of company objectives and principles.

- Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
